The Springfield Project

About Us

The Springfield Project is a charity based in Sparkhill, Birmingham. We believe that every child, young person, and adult in our community has the right to reach their full potential in life. That is why we run community activities which empower, enable and enrich the lives of hundreds of local children, young people and families. At our base in The Springfield Centre and at our Park Road site, we provide a range of educational, welfare, and recreation services for local children and families to combat poverty and help people to lead happy and healthy lives. Today we celebrated the Big Garden Birdwatch organised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. 🦜🦩🦚🦤
Giving children the opportunity to explore and see if they could spot how many birds they could see during our Stay &Play session outdoors.
Children had fun today pretending to fly and hop around like birds. We also shared the story with bird themes called Owl Babies.

We discussed Active Azra - Remembering to "Move More Sit Less and get those Belly Buttons on the move!". Families had a great day and we talked about the physical characters and share their messages with the children and families. Children under 5 years old as outlined in the UK Chief Medical Officers Report states that extended periods of inactivity should be broken up by at least light physical activity.
